Dr. Zhuo at Super Lighting's Postdoctoral Workstation Passed the Interim Evaluation

On the afternoon of October 16th, Super Lighting's postdoctoral workstation [1] held the interim postdoctoral evaluation. Xiaowen Song, a professor at Zhejiang University; Xiaoping Ye and Yaokun Xu, professors at Lishui Academy; Bifei Lv, the Engineering Equipment Director and Jidong Xu, the Administrative Director of Super Lighting, a total of 5 experts are members of the review panel. Yefei Du, the Chief Officer of Lishui Medical Security Bureau; Xiaoxiao Lu, the Deputy Officer, Liyao Chen, the Section Chief, and other relevant personnel attended the meeting, at which Dr. Zhuo Yaobin from our postdoctoral work station made an interim report.

Before the evaluation, Director Lu delivered a welcome speech on behalf of Super Lighting and briefly introduced the company's relevant situation. Director Lu said, "The company will take the national postdoctoral as the link, through the postdoctoral research work, to further strengthen the academic and technical exchanges among universities, research institutes, and the company's research and development personnel. This industry-university-research cooperation would promote the transformation and application of scientific research results, effectively improving the company's scientific research and innovation ability to enhance the core competitiveness of the company."

During the evaluation, Dr. Zhuo reported the progress, achievements, and follow-up research plan of the project "Numerical Simulation and Quality Control System Research of Glass Tube Horizontal-Drawing Forming Process" in the past year through literature retrieval, theoretical analysis, modeling, and simulation. The evaluation experts gave opinions and suggestions. They hoped Dr. Zhuo would soon promote the industrialization and marketization of the research results. Dr. Zhuo expressed his gratitude and said he would actively implement the follow-up research work with the suggestions in mind and strive to complete the project as quickly as possible and achieve outstanding results.

After the evaluation experts held the private session, they agreed that Dr. Zhuo had completed the numerical simulation of the glass tube horizontal control forming process with sufficient workload and noticeable effect. The next plan of the closed loop control system and software and hardware validation work application conforms to the anticipated target. Thus, the evaluation was rated as "excellent."

Finally, Chief Officer Du pointed out that as an essential carrier of talent introduction and training, the postdoctoral workstation promoted interactive communication among domestic first-class universities and first-class domestic enterprises, scientific research and industry, talents, and projects. Workstations further built an effective bridge of scientific and technological innovation. She hoped Super Lighting would focus on leading innovation, making bright spots, and attracting more outstanding talents to work in the station in Super Lighting[2]. In the construction process of Jinyun as the "strong industrial county," Super Lighting shall strive to be the "vanguard" of talent introduction and education, promoting the iterative upgrading of industry and supporting the high-quality development of enterprises.

Notes:

[1] The postdoctoral system in China was founded in 1985 upon suggestion by Chinese American physicist and Nobel laureate Tsung-Dao Lee. The Office of the National Administrative Committee of Postdoctoral Researchers regulates all postdoctoral mobile stations at universities and postdoctoral workstations at institutes and enterprises in mainland China. Applicants to postdoctoral positions have to pass a detailed medical check-up in order to enter the stations. Postdoctoral researchers are required to undergo regular evaluations, and submit a research report for evaluation at the end of the postdoctoral period to obtain approval to leave the stations. Those who are approved to leave the stations will receive a postdoctoral certificate from the national administration office (Wikipedia).

[2] Workstations which train more than six postdoctoral fellows could do independent recruitment.
